SS24 course “LICHTdeisgn”  by Prof. Oliver Niewiadomski.

In this course, we explored various concepts related to light and designed a lamp by delving into intriguing themes. My theme was shadow, and I aimed to explore a new concept of shadow creation by considering the physics of light. Inspired by black holes and solar eclipses, I decided to design a reflection in the shape of a solar eclipse after extensive research. By using an optical lens to concentrate light like a laser pointer and incorporating LEDs that disperse light widely, the lamp creates an interesting lighting effect. Originally, I chose Plexiglass as the main material for the product case, but the prototype was created through modeling and 3D printing.
